Neck

Our necks will always remind us when something is just not right. Taking care of our neck will allow us to do more activities with less discomfort. The neck is sucha vital part of the body. You really don't realize how vital it is until you lose range of motion. All of the sudden, even a simple task such as turning your head to look in a mirror casuse severe pain. Sport and Spine Rehab treats the following conditions that affect the neck:

The process of aging and the wear and tear on your spine can make it difficult to live an active lifestyle. The pain caused by a cervical herniated disc can make doing daily activities very difficult and painful.

Arm pain from a cervical herniated disc is one of the more common cervical spine conditions treated by spine specialists. It usually develops in the 30 to 50-year-old age group.

A common pain after a motor vehicle accident is called "whiplash." Once it has occurred many people have a hard time recovering and returning to normal activities due to the neck pain.  Whiplash can also produce  problems with concentrating, blurred vision, fatigue, and ringing in the ears.

Chiropractors are specialists in treating non-surgical spine injuries and commonly treat whiplash injuries from car accidents.

A very common complaint of people of all ages is neck pain. The culprit for most of the people who are suffering is Mechanical neck pain. Mechanical neck pain can cause people to miss work or go through their daily activities struggling with discomfort.

Mechanical neck and back pain implies the source of pain is in the spine and/or its supporting structure. This occurs when one of the joints in the spine loses its normal joint play (resiliency and shock absorption). It is detected through motion palpation, a procedure in which the doctor gently moves the joint in different directions and assesses its joint play.

By far the most common form of neck arthritis is neck osteoarthritis (also called cervical arthritis or cervical spondylosis), but neck arthritis can be caused by a bunch of arthritic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and more. Typically, this can be generalized by just calling it "neck pain". As with all arthritic conditions, if left untreated, it gets progressively worse over time.

So what is osteoarthritis? Simply put, it is when the cartilage in the joint wears away.
