Having lower back pains can stem from a number of different reasons: a bad setup at the work desk, a car accident, lifting incorrectly, poor posture, manual labor, sports and more. There are just some things that a simple ice pack or heat pad can't fix. That is when you should see a specialist. Sport and Spine Rehab treats the following conditions that affect the lower-back:

This is a common type of back pain that often affects older people. The pain is usually caused from wear and tear of the spine over the years.

Arthritis has been used to describe chronic irritation, inflammation and degeneration of a joint. However, arthritis is broken up into two groups: inflammatory and degenerative. Inflammatory arthritis produces excessive swelling of the joint and can lead to pain and erosive changes in the joint if left unchecked.

When part or all of a disc in the spine is forced through a portion of the disc that is weakened it is called a "herniated disk." Nearby nerves feel the pressure from the herniated disc. The pain can cause leg pain, lower extremity muscle weakness in addition to the back pain.

Pain along the large sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back down through the buttocks and along the back of each leg is a relatively common form of back pain.
