KNEE MENISCAL INJURIES
A meniscal injury can be caused by having a foot firmly planted and knee bent while quickly twisting or turning. Pain and swelling can be a primary symptom of a meniscal injury. A common complaint is not being able to completely straighten out the joint.
Injury to one of the two crescent-shaped cartilage pads between the two joints formed by the femur (the thigh bone) and the tibia (the shin bone) is Meniscal injury. After any injury the knee may click, lock, or feel weak. Symptoms of meniscal injury may disappear on their own but frequently, symptoms persist or return and require treatment.
